Drinking Water Refill Finder: City Snapshots & Offline Trip Cards
Find mapped drinking-water candidates in dated city extracts, compare access and bottle tags, and export your selected stops as GPX, CSV and an offline trip card.
Refill Stop Finder
City extracts are static files served by KitForma. Search coordinates and selections stay in your browser. No location permission, tracking map tiles or live public Overpass requests are used.
Supported scope: Twenty dated city-center extracts, each 5 km radius · not complete global coverage · local Overpass JSON ≤5 MiB / 10,000 elements · up to 20 selected stops · no live water test or navigable route.

Does this guarantee the water is safe and available?
No. These are community-mapped candidates, not inspection results or a live availability service. A water point can be broken, seasonal, locked or inaccurately tagged. Read local signs and check the source details; keep a fallback supply for your trip.
Which locations are covered?
The built-in collection contains dated 5 km circles around twenty city centers. The city selector names them. It is not complete global coverage or the entire administrative area of each city. For another area, prepare a bounded query here, run it manually in an Overpass query tool, export raw JSON and import that file with the same search coordinates. No public query is sent automatically.
Why do some stops have unknown fees or opening hours?
Missing map tags are displayed as unknown. The default filter excludes an explicit fee=yes but keeps unknown fees visible. Enable the stricter free-water filter to require fee=no or drinking_water:refill=yes. A free-water tag still does not guarantee access at the time you visit.
Is the GPX file a walking route?
No. It contains selected waypoints in your chosen order. It has no track, path calculation, travel-time estimate or turn instructions. Distances are straight-line distances from the search center, and area features can use an approximate center. Choose safe legal paths with an appropriate navigation source.
Are the city snapshots current?
Each result shows the OSM source snapshot time and its age. Published snapshots do not update in real time. An OSM element edit time is not a condition inspection date. You can inspect the source record or import a newer extract, whose origin and completeness remain your responsibility.
Can I use and share the downloads?
Yes, with the accompanying data attribution and license. The source extract, CSV, GPX, JSON, SVG and trip card retain © OpenStreetMap contributors and the ODbL 1.0 link. The trip card can be printed and the files used offline; they do not refresh after download.
